The Avec Toi mantilla is cut from a fine, lightweight tulle and edged entirely in authentic Calais lace, woven on the historic Leavers looms of northern France rather than stamped onto a plain net. Leavers lace holds a raised, textured motif and a soft, slightly irregular hand that machine-embroidered lace cannot copy. The veil is hand-finished in our Paris atelier.

What is the difference between a mantilla and a regular wedding veil?
A mantilla is a single circular veil worn draped over the head and shoulders, with no gathers at the comb, unlike a traditional cathedral veil which is fuller and often layered with a separate blusher. It's the shape historically worn for church weddings, though many brides now choose it simply for its clean, romantic silhouette.
Can I wear this veil for a civil ceremony, or is it only for church weddings?
While the mantilla shape has religious roots, it's now worn just as often for civil and destination weddings. Its simple, gathering-free silhouette suits both traditional and modern dresses.
Does this veil come with a blusher?
No, the mantilla is worn as a single layer with no separate blusher. If you'd like the same lace and fabric with a blusher included, see our Avec Toi veil with a Blusher.
Will the comb hold in fine or thick hair?
The mantilla is mounted on a lightweight silver comb designed to sit securely across a range of hairstyles, from a low bun to hair worn down, without pulling or slipping during the ceremony.
What if I need to return or exchange it?
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of receiving your order. See our Refund Policy for full details.
