There is no tulle at its center. From the crown to the hem, the veil is lace, so its roses, leaves and scrolling stems run over your hair, along your shoulders and down the full length of the train.
Each veil is cut and finished by hand in our Paris atelier. The scalloped, eyelash-fringed edge is placed to follow the line of your face, then falls behind you in soft, unbroken folds. Leavers lace is fine and supple, so even at this length the veil drapes close to the body instead of standing away from it.

The result is richer and closer to the antique mantillas once passed down through families, and the pattern stays visible even where the veil rests against your dress.

Instead of knitting a mesh, the loom twists thousands of threads around one another, which gives the lace its depth, its fine hexagonal ground and its soft, irregular eyelash edge. It is slow work, and only a small number of lacemakers in Calais and Caudry still do it.
Dentelle de Calais-Caudry® is a collective trademark and, since 2024, a protected geographical indication. The name may only be used for Leavers lace made by certified lacemakers in Calais and Caudry. We use the same certified lace across our French lace veils.
A Mantilla for the Nuptial Mass
The mantilla has always belonged in church. For many Catholic brides, covering the hair with lace for the wedding Mass is a way of keeping an old custom, and it remains common at the Traditional Latin Mass. Each Éternelle is cut and finished by hand in our Paris atelier. Stored flat or loosely rolled in acid-free tissue paper, away from light, the lace keeps its color and shape for years, ready to be worn again by a daughter, a sister or a friend.
Care
Hang the veil a few days before the wedding to let any folds relax. If needed, steam gently from a distance, never directly on the lace, and do not iron. For cleaning, entrust it to a dry cleaner who works with bridal lace.
